The decision to undergo medical treatment abroad is rarely simple. It is not enough to choose a well-known clinic, buy a ticket, and make an appointment. You need to understand which specialist has experience with your specific diagnosis, where the necessary examinations can be performed, how long the preparation will take, and how to communicate with doctors in another language.

Even in a well-organized country like Switzerland, it can be difficult for an international patient to navigate the healthcare system independently. Choosing the wrong specialist, providing an incomplete set of documents, or inaccuracies in translation can result in the loss of valuable time.

Russo Unique Services helps patients go through this process calmly and step by step. Since 2005, we have been organizing diagnostics, treatment, and rehabilitation in Switzerland for international patients.

Over the years, more than 2,500 people from different countries have entrusted us with their health. Every case has its own story: a complex diagnosis, the need for a second opinion, the search for the right surgeon, or the need for rehabilitation after serious treatment. That is why we do not offer standard programs — the organization of treatment always begins with the individual patient’s medical situation.

How the Organization of Treatment in Switzerland Begins

Patients often contact us after undergoing examinations or treatment in their home country but still not receiving clear answers. Some want to confirm a diagnosis, others are looking for additional treatment options, while others require surgery or rehabilitation.

The first step is to review the medical documentation. The patient provides medical reports, test results, doctors’ conclusions, and medical images. We then determine which clinic and specialist would be most appropriate.

When selecting a doctor, we consider not only their specialization but also their experience with the specific condition. For example, two specialists in the same field may focus on entirely different areas. Therefore, a well-known name or prestigious clinic does not necessarily guarantee that the choice will be right for a particular patient.

After preliminary coordination with the medical institution, the patient receives a clear plan of the next steps: required consultations and examinations, estimated timeframes, and the preliminary cost of the medical program.

What Support for International Patients Includes

Our goal is to organize the process so that the patient can focus on what matters most: their health.

Selecting a Doctor and Clinic

We cooperate with university hospitals, private clinics, diagnostic centers, and rehabilitation facilities in Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Winterthur, Rorschach, and other cities across Switzerland.

The choice depends on the diagnosis, the purpose of the consultation, and medical indications. In some cases, a patient needs a consultation with a highly specialized physician; in others, a multidisciplinary discussion involving several doctors may be required.

Preparation of Medical Documents

For a Swiss specialist to objectively assess the situation, complete and properly prepared information is essential. We help compile the medical dossier, organize examination results, and prepare documents for submission to the clinic.

Professional medical translation can also be arranged when necessary.

Scheduling Consultations and Examinations

We coordinate the dates of consultations, diagnostic procedures, hospitalization, and treatment. If a patient needs to see several specialists, we aim to arrange the schedule in a way that avoids unnecessary travel and long waiting periods between appointments.

Travel Coordination

Before arrival, the patient receives a detailed plan explaining where and when they need to go, which documents to bring, and how the examination or treatment will proceed.

If necessary, we assist with accommodation, transfers, and other organizational matters. All details are discussed in advance so that, after arriving in Switzerland, the patient does not have to deal with medical and everyday logistical issues independently.

Language Support

Doctors in Switzerland provide consultations in German, French, Italian, or English. However, even people who speak a foreign language well may find specialized medical terminology difficult to understand.

During a consultation, it is particularly important to clearly understand the diagnosis, the doctor’s recommendations, and to ask all necessary questions. That is why we provide language support during consultations, examinations, and discussions of the further treatment plan.

Second Medical Opinion in Switzerland

Not every patient comes to Switzerland for surgery or long-term treatment. Sometimes the primary goal is to obtain an independent second opinion.

Such a consultation is particularly important if:

  • there are doubts about the diagnosis;
  • a complex surgical procedure has been recommended;
  • treatment is not producing the expected results;
  • the disease is progressing;
  • several treatment options are available;
  • the patient wants to make sure that all available options have been considered.

A Swiss specialist reviews the medical records, evaluates the results of previous diagnostic examinations, and, if necessary, recommends additional tests. The patient then receives an expert medical opinion and a clearer understanding of the possible next steps.

Sometimes a second opinion confirms the treatment strategy already chosen. In other cases, the doctor may recommend additional diagnostics, a different treatment method, or a less invasive alternative to surgery. In either case, the patient receives an important basis for making an informed decision.

Diagnostics Without Unnecessary Delays

One of the advantages of a properly organized medical program is the ability to combine the necessary examinations and consultations within a single trip.

Depending on the diagnosis, the program may include:

  • laboratory tests;
  • MRI, CT, PET-CT, and other imaging procedures;
  • functional diagnostics;
  • consultations with specialized physicians;
  • multidisciplinary review of the results;
  • preparation of a written medical report.

At some clinics, the main examinations can be completed within one or several days. This is particularly important for international patients who need to plan the duration of their stay in Switzerland in advance.

Rehabilitation After Surgery or Serious Illness

Treatment does not always end upon discharge from the hospital. After complex surgery, a stroke, cancer treatment, an injury, or a prolonged illness, a patient may require professional rehabilitation.

We help select a specialized rehabilitation center and coordinate the recovery program before the main treatment is completed. This helps avoid a long gap between hospital discharge and the beginning of rehabilitation.

Depending on the patient’s condition, the program may include physiotherapy, restoration of mobility, speech therapy, pain management, respiratory therapy, therapeutic nutrition, and medical supervision.

Swiss rehabilitation clinics in Bad Ragaz and other regions of the country offer programs for patients with a wide range of medical conditions. The center is selected based on the diagnosis, physical condition, and rehabilitation goals.

Why Professional Support Is Important for International Patients

When it comes to health, patients should not have to spend their energy on endless correspondence, searching for interpreters, or trying to navigate an unfamiliar healthcare system on their own.

Professional coordination helps to:

  • find the right specialist faster;
  • prepare all necessary documents in advance;
  • receive a clear diagnostic or treatment plan;
  • avoid organizational mistakes;
  • correctly understand doctors’ recommendations;
  • stay in contact with the clinic after returning home.

At the same time, the patient retains the ability to make their own decisions. Our role is to provide complete information, organize the medical process, and remain available at every important stage.

More Than 20 Years of Experience in Organizing Medical Treatment

Russo Unique Services has been organizing medical treatment in Switzerland since 2005. During this time, we have supported more than 2,500 international patients — from their initial inquiry through treatment, rehabilitation, and follow-up care.

We understand that behind every medical document is a real person who is concerned, waiting for answers, and wants to feel confident that they are making the right decisions. That is why not only timing and organizational accuracy matter to us, but also a compassionate and personal approach.
